From hats to high-demand — this is how it all started.
I didn’t come up in this game with a full book of clients, celebrity shoutouts, or viral videos.
I came up with a pair of clippers, a lot of trial and error — and a fresh hat to cover up my early attempts.
I was a self-taught barber, inspired by the OGs in the neighborhood. I watched how they transformed people, how they connected with the community. That lit the fire. But getting good? Getting paid? That took time.
Nobody trusted me at first.
When I finally got my license, I was hyped — but reality hit hard.
People trashed my flyers. Business cards got ignored.
I’d get a walk-in once in a while, but not enough to build anything consistent.
Truth is, I got discouraged. I started showing up late, dipping early — blaming the game when I should’ve been learning how to play it. I had to pick up a part-time job just to get by. Building clientele felt impossible.
📱 Then came social media — and everything changed.
I’m from the pre-social media era. Back when we relied on biz cards and word of mouth.
That grind was slow. But when I started posting my work online, everything flipped.
Suddenly, I WASN’T showing my skills to 10 people a day — I was getting my work in front of 10,000 + People a day.
That’s when I locked in. I built a brand. I built trust. I built a client base that never stopped growing.
